The soft adjustment turrets and occasional parallax complaints at high round counts bother me though. At this price, tighter clicks shouldn’t be too much to ask.
The Vortex AMG UH-1 Gen II is the most interesting alternative here. It costs less than the MRO HD while bringing holographic technology, a large viewing window, 15 brightness settings, a dedicated NV button, and that legendary Vortex VIP lifetime warranty. That warranty is genuinely no questions asked.
The tradeoff is weight. At 11 oz it’s the heaviest in this group by a wide margin. That 1,000 hour battery life also means you’re swapping batteries much more often. For home defense or competition it’s excellent. For a rifle you want to leave powered on all the time, not so much.
