Today I’m going to show you the best MCG reflex red dot sight.
In fact:
I’ve hand-tested over 10 optics alone for this review.
The best part?
I’ve sorted the sights by use. So whether you’re on a budget or need the best reflex sight, you’ll find it here.
Let’s dive in!
The 3 Best MCG Reflex Red Dot Sights
If you’re pressed on time, here’s a quick list of the top MCG reflex sights on the market:
- CVLIFE 1X22X33 – Best Budget Reflex Sight
- Feyachi RS-30 – Best Reflex Sight Under $30
- Predator V2 – Best Overall MCG Reflex Sight
1. CVLIFE 1X22X33 – Best Budget Reflex Sight
The CVLIFE 1x22x33 is the best reflex sight for the money.
In fact:
It costs less than $20 and and some have claimed it performs equally as good as $50 optics.
Is it true? And is it worth the money?
Let’s find out…
Glass Clarity & Reticle
The CV Life 1x22x33 Red /Green Dot scope features a red/green dot system.
It’s powered by two CR2032 batteries (included with purchase).

The scope allows you to choose between four reticle patterns:
- Circle Dot
- Cross
- 10 MOA
- 3 MOA

There are five levels of brightness.
A 3-position rheostat located on the top of the optic controls the reticle’s intensity and color.
The brightness is relatively good and it works well in broad daylight and low light conditions
On the downside, the reticle is not always clear. There is occasional blurriness and even double vision of the reticle.
Another thing I didn’t like is how the lens isn’t smudge-proof or resistant to dust or fingerprints. So, it does require a certain level of vigilance to keep the image nice and clear.
Eye Relief & Eye Box
Eye relief on the CV Life 1x22x33x is infinite.
Like most reflex sights, the lens that you look through is a lot wider. This gives a lot of room to move either closer or further away when aiming.

If you have poor eyesight, this style of optic might feel much more comfortable than others.
The lens is well positioned relative to where your face would normally rest and the eye box is big enough to take on more challenging angles.
Durability & Weight
At just 4.6oz, this scope is feather-light.
The body has an anodized matte black finish and is constructed from aluminum alloy.
When you pick it up, it has a strong, sturdy feel in your hands. It performs well on most firearms, but it might not perform for very long.
There is a reason why the company’s warranty is only for 60 days. It’s likely that within a year’s time, this optic will not be working properly, if at all.
(Hence, the insanely cheap price point).
The reflex sight does come with a rubber protective covering for the lens. USE IT! If the scope falls or gets hit, the lens will likely scratch or crack.

The company claims this scope is shock resistant. However, I’ve tested it on more powerful guns that caused it to lose zero.
Elevation & Windage Knobs
Good news:
This scope is really easy to zero. It even comes with an Allen wrench for making adjustments to elevation and windage.

Bad news:
The turrets are spongy and easily moveable. Movement from your gun will eventually affect the accuracy of the CV Life 1x22x33.
Magnification & Parallax
Magnification is 1×22 with unlimited parallax adjustment.

Great for medium-range shooting, hunting, and home defense.
CVLIFE 1x22x33 Review: Is It Worth It?
If you are looking to simply hit the range, have fun once in a while or looking for a cheap optic for your pistol, the CVLIFE 1x22x33 might be a good choice for you.
The company even includes 2 free targets with purchase to take out to the range!
However, I would not recommend this scope for more serious hunting needs. Afterall, the sight is only $20.
In short:
If you need a very temporary “reflex solution” until you can afford something more reliable, this might be your answer.
Or maybe you just want to give this style of scope a try without making much of a financial sacrifice. Either way, CVLife has great customer service and stand behind their products.
So if anything happens to reflex sight, they’ll take care of you.
- Tubeless design with 33mm reflex lens aperture provides a wide field of view, suitable for rapid-firing or shooting of moving targets besides normal shooting
- Dual illuminated ( red and green);4 reticle shapes in one reflex sight, provide various choices in different occasions, like sunshine, cloudy day.
- Parallax corrected & unlimited eye-relief, improving the accuracy of holographic sights. Allen head screw type windage and elevation click adjustments, with locking screw, easy to adjust zero and hold...
2. Feyachi RS-30 – Best Reflex Sight Under $30
The Feyachi RS-30 reflex sight costs $10 more than the CVLIFE 1x22x33.
Question is:
Is it worth paying the extra bucks for it?
Keep reading to find out…
Glass Clarity and Reticle
The glass is nice and clear.
Didn’t experience any distortion or hints of light residue. It features a multi-reticle (like the CVLife):
- Star
- Cross
- Bullseye
- Dot

Although the dot is bright and easy to see in daytime, it could sometimes be a bit blurry if the knob isn’t placed perfectly.
It features a red and green illumination option which is great if you have red dot astigmatism.
One thing I didn’t like, however, is that the battery compartment is located right under the power button. This makes the lid comes loose easier than it should.
Eye Relief and Eye Box
With the red dot, I have virtually unlimited eye relief, and can see everything in my target without being too close.

I can just point and shoot without having to aim too much. It’s also easy to use with both eyes open, which makes it good for quick shooting.
Durability and Weight
The sight is small and lightweight, but also feels heavy duty enough to take a bit of a beating.

In fact:
For the price, this sight is pretty solidly built.
The best part?
It was super easy to mount. I can easily take it off one gun and put it on another without much hassle. It only takes a few minutes.
Elevation and Windage Knobs
This sight has fully adjustable windage and elevation knobs.

They’re right on the top of the sight and easy to access as well. The clicks are positive and audible.
Magnification and Parallax
With 1x magnification, the red dot works best on a short to medium range.

There is almost zero parallax on this sight. Matter of fact, it comes parallax adjusted out of the box and works great.
I used it for about two hours at the range, and this thing handles continuous recoil like a champ. I hardly had to do any adjusting, and it held the target very consistently.
Feyachi RS-30 Reflex Sight Review: Is It Worth It?
Here’s the straight up answer:
No.
Here’s why: The Feyachi RS-30 and CVLife are pretty much the same reflex sight. In fact, I barely noticed a difference between the two.
- Tubeless design with 40mm reflex lens aperture provides quick target acquisition, also a wider field of view to maintain situational awarenes.
- 4 Selectable reticles and 5 brightness settings. Low power consumption for long battery life.
- Integrated mount for standard 20mm Picatinny or Weaver rails which will not loose, made to last.
So save your $10 and go for a CVLife instead.
However, if you’re looking a reflex sight that is better than the CVLife that only costs about $20 – $30 more, I’d recommend the…
3. Predator V2 – Best Overall MCG Reflex Sight
The Predator V2 is one the best reflex sights for the money.
It’s highly customizable, easy-to-install, and accurate.
In fact:
The Predator V2 is made in the USA and is produced by a combat veteran-owned company. That says a lot about the quality.
However, the reflex sight is $50. Is it worth it?
Let’s find out…
Glass Clarity & Reticle
The glass is crystal clear — regardless of distance.

The reason?
It has a reflective proof lens coating that sharpens glass clarity. Considering the low-price point, the glass of the Predator V2 isn’t too bad.
Moving beyond the glass, we’re met with 4 different reticle options:
- Dot
- Star
- Cross
- Bullseye
The reticle itself is bright and clear. You have the option to make it either green or red. Personally, I’ve found the green dot to be a lot easier on my eyes.
Either way, whether my targets are near or far, the reticle is sharp and accurate.
Eye Relief & Eye Box
When using iron sights alone, my eyes tire quickly.
The Predator V2 Reflex Sight sits at a mounted height that allows me to co-witness my iron sight at a 45-degree angle offset, and the Reflex Red Dot Sight offers a significant decrease to my eye strain.
The eye box is great too, and I’m able to retain a clear picture between the reticles and the sight itself.
Durability & Weight
The Predator V2 is crafted of high-quality aluminum alloy — the golden standard for optics.

It has a beautiful and sleek matte black finish and weighs in at 12 ounces, making it a great lightweight addition to my rifles.
It’s also argon-purged and O-ring sealed, making it completely waterproof, fogproof and shockproof.
However:
After a few shots, I noticed some of the screws attached to my picatinny rail became a bit loose. Nothing too crazy, and it was an easy and quick fix, but I do suggest over tightening it just slightly.
Elevation & Windage Knobs
The dials are easy to adjust and actually stay in place.

Zeroing is very easy. Within 8 rounds, I was zeroed at 25 yards. It also held zero well, despite shooting heavy rounds.
Magnification & Parallax
There’s no magnification. I’ve been able to easily hit the bullseye at 100+ yards.

Parallax is zero-to-none. Regardless of movement or angle, I haven’t experienced parallax nor glass distortion.
Predator V2 Reflex Sight Review: Is It Worth it?
If you can’t spend more than $60 on a reflex sight, then I highly recommend the Predator V2.
Although the glass is decent and it’s a bit fragile, it’s worth the money. Here’s why:
Plus it comes with lifetime warranty. So if anything happens to it, Tacticon — which is a combat veteran-owned company — has you covered.
If you intend on using this sight for fun (shooting at the range) and not for serious applications (self-defense, etc.), then get the Predator V2.

Which reflex red dot will you pick for your firearm?
Let me know by leaving a quick comment down below.
What is the length of the mount?
I’d like to mount it on a GSG Firefly.
Thanks
Hey Samuel, which optic are you looking at?
I have the Tacticon V2 on my AR and it’s definitely an excellent optic for the price.
Is there a switch to turn it off and on?
Yes, if you hold both red and green, unit will turn off. Or, it will auto turn off after 1 hour.
Will the predator v2 work well with my S&W 357 competitor revolver?
I have the standard MCGRGD sight, how do you turn the light off
I ordered two red dots in early june 2023. it is now the 22nd. I have not heard a single word from MCG other than they took my payment. I have reached out five times as of this writing, with zero response. My advise (BEWARE)
