ATN X Sight 2 5-20x has been making the X-Sight range of products for over ten years. They are slowly moving towards more compact 3x magnifications but their top end product still remains the 20X version. These scopes are popular because they are lightweight and easy to use, not to mention it’s a solid product that has always given me good results for all of my uses.
But is this night vision scope worth it? By the end of this ATN X Sight 2 5-20x review, you’ll know your answer.
Let’s get right to it!

Here’s my ATN X-Sight II 5-20X Review
For anyone interested in night vision scopes, ATN is definitely a viable choice. If you are looking for a vision scope with a definite track record, then the ATN X-Sight II would be for you.
Glass Clarity & Reticle
The clarity of the glass is as always a very important factor for me as it’s all about the quality of the view, and I certainly wouldn’t want to be confused about what I was looking at. The X-Sight II has a large 40mm objective lens with a nice etched grid for use with very small targets. The reticle is off-axis illuminated making it perfect for using in pitch black conditions. The reticle itself is 5 power magnification and uses a fine crosshair to cover about 45% of your view. The reticle markings are easy to read and well defined, giving you just enough clarity to focus on your target without having to rely on the central dot within the scope display.
Eye Relief & Eye Box
The eye relief is great and the 5 power scope and more than enough of it, I had no problem using the scope with both eyes open. The minimum eye box is also more than adequate, you can clearly see your target from around 45 degrees on both sides of the optic, giving you a very wide field of view.
Night Vision & Adjustments
The ATN X-Sight II 5-20x is exceptional on this scope and it works perfectly at all levels, whether you are looking at starlight or completely dark nights it will always look crystal clear. The adjustments are very simple to make but do require quite a bit of strength to make certain your sight picture remains consistent. If I had to change anything, I would make the scope brighter. This isn’t really a problem, but if you were to use it out in the open then you will need IR illuminators like the ATN IR850 Supernova Long-Range Infrared Illuminator to increase its brightness level.

You can adjust your night vision settings but that takes some time and adds another layer of complexity to using the scope. If you want to know more, you can check out the best night vision scope for AR-15 in 2021.
Durability
This scope is almost indestructible, I have been using it for both terrestrial and night time activities for years and have not had any issues with it yet. It can withstand a lot of punishment but is still light enough to carry around with you most of the time.
Elevation & Windage Knobs
The elevation and windage knobs are easy to use, enough to make changes without holding your breath wondering if you’ve done it correctly. Just remember that these are not auto-adjustment settings like other scopes, you need to give it a bit of time before the movement stops (usually around 200 yards).
Parallax & Magnification
Parallax is very easy to adjust quickly for any target between 25-50 yards away. The magnification is smooth and easy enough to adjust with gloves on during cold weather hunts.
Mounting & Rings
The ATN X-Sight II 5-20x scope comes with a variety of rings to fit most rifles and handguns. It is easy to mount and twist the rings but I would recommend getting the ATN Quick Detach Mount for 30mm Scope Tube as one of the best mounts currently available. The scope also has a laser aiming function which is useful for checking where you’re aiming then it effectively locks that direction.
Price
Price is always an important factor for me, I would say this is one of the most expensive night vision scopes on the market. But again, it’s one of the best night vision scopes.

With so many options available for night vision scopes such as the Vortex Sparc 2 and Vortex Sparkfire 2, how well does the ATN X-Sight II 5-20x perform and is it the right choice for you?

The ATN X-Sight II does everything you need it to do and then some. It’s reliable and sturdy, lightweight and compact, easy to use and packed full of features.

FAQ’s
If you are looking for a night vision scope then I would recommend ATN, they are great value for money. They are reliable and easily adjustable by all who use them without having to worry about them breaking like some other manufacturers.
Most ATN night vision scopes are sold with ranges according to their magnification settings. For example, the 20X X-Sight II comes with a range of between 25m (100ft) and 50m (165ft), while the 5X X-Sight II is capable of seeing out to 25m (100ft).
I have read so many bad reviews on ATN scopes I’d never buy one. I don’t trust sites like this completely, no way to know if they are getting paid to do a good review. Of particular concern are the claims they don’t hold zero for heavier calibers due to not being able to take much recoil. They seem to do well for girly calibers, such as the 5.56mm/.223 Remington but I like the big stuff. Despite the vastly higher cost, I think I’ll look into Trijicon and go thermal instead of night vision. I might have to sell a vehicle or mortgage my house to buy one but you get what you pay for.
Girly caliber? I bet you carry nothing smaller than 45acp too…🙄🙄
Atn should supply the disk drive with the scope .
Instructions for scope are insistent that the scope should be updated at ATN sight but no micro drive is included .
For 699 you would think ATN would supply one free instead of selling them for 25 each
